'16BOOSTERZ' is the latest single from the 16-member Japanese dance-vocal group, The RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE. Written and produced by Japanese producer Sty, the track has a recognisable 'EXILE sound' that compliments their latest album that showcased EDM/hip-hop influences.
If you follow other EXILE groups, you may be familiar with sty's credits on other singles, including J Soul Brothers III hit single 'R.Y.U.S.E.I.' which was awarded the Grand Prix at the 56th Japan Record Awards. '16BOOSTERZ' is full of interesting vocal melodies and chord progressions that are carried by a fiery upbeat tempo that is mirrored in the music video which features a collaboration with LIBERTY WALK who designed custom supercars for each member of the group. Whilst I am not particularly interested in supercars, I did find that the single suited the music video and collaboration with LIBERTY WALK, making this a strong single that would appeal to international listeners. For a song with so much energy and drive, they have designed a music video that reflects the group's image and raises anticipation for the live tour. If you liked their track 'ROLL UP' from their latest album 'ROUND&ROUND' then I think you will love this single as it carries similar stylistic features. Overall, this is a catchy single and one that captures the energy and charisma of the group!
