'Everest' by THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE

J-pop group THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE have just released their new single 'Everest', which features alongside the group's forthcoming single 'Summer Riot-熱帯夜~'.

Produced by AVA1anche who has worked on the group's singles 'Heatwave' and 'THROW YA FIST', their new single incorporates heavy bass production with sparse accompaniment allowing space for the group to showcase their vocals.

Prior to the release, it was evident that 'Everest' and 'Summer Riot-熱帯夜~' had juxtaposing aesthetics, with one adopting warm summery tones that draws comparisons to singles like 'LA FIESTA' and 'HEATWAVE'. On the other hand, 'Everest' reminds listeners of the group's debut album by adopting heavy hip-hop/rap production that complements their recent work 'Fallen Butterfly' and 'Slam That Down'.

The music video for 'Everest' uses drone shots and plays with lighting to create a moody display that features strong contrasting tones and shadows that cleverly captures each member's personality. The mono-chrome visuals emphasises the synchronised choreography, adding sharpness to the song's production with the blend of vocal styles keeping the listener engaged. It will be interesting to see what visuals the group will produce for 'Summer Riot-熱帯夜~', and for fans who enjoy RAMPAGE's hip-hop style songs, I think you'll love 'Everest'!
