'Games' by Fyfe (EP Review)

'Games' is a collection of songs that features minimalist production exploring self-doubt, identity and questioning one's place in the world. The EP delves deep into the persona's thoughts, questioning the importance of relationships and the materialistic wealth of modern life. The tracks that feature on the EP move towards a new production style that nicely evolves from Fyfe's previous work.

'In The Band' is my favourite track from the EP; it has a simple accompaniment with the vocals placed at the forefront of the production creating a laid-back vibe that makes you want to listen to this song on repeat. Throughout the EP, the rough production style creates melodies that feel intimate with the listener. The concluding track 'Operator' is a great track that captures the intensity underlying the record accompanied by an expansive soundscape with the line suddenly cut. This experimental EP presents itself as a personal record that captures an individual who is questioning their identity whilst reflecting upon their past. It is an incredibly raw and introspective collection of stories that presents someone who is in a period of transition. I'm so glad that Fyfe is back with new music and I would highly recommend checking out 'Games' in the link above or on my Spotify Reviews Playlist (link in bio).
