'Lucky Sue' by Men I Trust

Men I Trust are an indie-pop trio based in Montreal, Quebec. The band formed in 2014 and consists of members Jessy Caron, Dragos Chiriac, and Emmanuelle Proulx.

"I saw the home she’s from
No place for one to hum
That pride so dear to some
She learned to overcome
Fate unearned"

Lucky Sue is a woozy track that opens with soft padded chords and a funky bass line that evokes a sensual tone to the song's overall mood. The whispery, hushed vocals gently glide above the instrumental and allow the listener to sit back and relax. There are no distinctive sections or crescendos throughout the track, but I quite liked how this song exudes warm tones through its melodies and the harmonies between the synths and bass. The production is similar to the style of musicians like Rhye ( eg Helpless and Open) with its minimalist stripped back melodies and soft vocals being the primary force behind the track.

If you need a song to chill to then, definitely check out this out! If you liked this song then check out their album Forever Live Sessions.
