'On My Way Down' by Cade Hoppe

Brooklyn-based indie artist Cade Hoppe's recent single 'On My Way Down' is a love song produced by Harper James who previously worked on Hoppe's single 'Loverly High'.

'On My Way Down' begins with an atmospheric introduction with a reverbed chordal progression and thumping drumbeat reminiscent of the introduction to 'Holy Ground' by Taylor Swift. Cade Hoppe's vocals and lyricism also mirror Swift's song writing, exploring themes of nostalgia and love. The production is fantastic on the track as the instrumental balances nicely with Hoppe's deep vocals. The seamless transition from verse to chorus produces forward momentum with the hummed staccato vocals creating texture in the vocal line that helps to engage the listener. Hoppe has crafted the perfect upbeat love song that oozes warmth and nostalgia whilst interweaving a story that captures the feeling of falling hopelessly in love.
