Wrapping Up 2025: New Music and End of Year Reflections

Hi everyone,

The darker evenings and colder nights have well and truly arrived, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling that winter slowdown creeping in. Between work deadlines and the general end-of-year rush, I haven’t had as much time to sit down and plan posts or dive into new music reviews. However, I have been making sure that I take some time out to chill and listen to new albums. Right now my current favourite is 5 Seconds of Summer’s latest album, Everyone Is A Star.

It’s been on repeat as part of my morning playlist, and honestly, it’s the perfect soundtrack to kickstart the day. I’m loving the tongue-in-cheek lyricism and the way the band has leaned unapologetically into the “boyband” aesthetic. I've never truly dived into the band's music (apart from knowing their hits like 'She's So Perfect'). I’d love to know what you all think!

Beyond work and listening to new music, I’ve been quietly working on my annual end-of-year roundup: a list of my favourite albums and EPs from 2025. With so many incredible releases this year, narrowing it down has been quite a challenge (the best kind of challenge, though- I feel like we've been spoilt for choice this year!). I can’t wait to share my picks with you soon and see what other music lovers and blogs highlight as their standouts from the year.

Here’s to wrapping up 2025 with good music, chilly winter nights, and a little reflection before the new year begins...
