Shin Sakiura is a Tokyo-based guitarist and music producer whose track Cruisin' rework' features a collaboration with rising Japanese musician SIRUP.
This track is full of surprises, changing tempo and including a range of different instrumental features making this an exciting experimental song that doesn't disappoint. Cruisin' begins with delicate crackling synths accompanied by rhythmic guitar riffs creating a lo-fi sound. The introduction is abruptly interrupted by a deep synth bass-line and SIRUP's vocals that cut through like a knife. The main chorus features a sleek bass line with hip-hop inspired beats, adding colour and texture to the overall track. This reworked version emphasises SIRUP'S crisp vocals and adds an extra layer of warmth to the instrumentation. Shin Sakiura's production on this track perfectly suits SIRUP's signature lo-fi hip-hop style making this a triumphant collaboration that will get you dancing through quarantine.
If you like this song, I would recommend listening to Slide featuring maco marets and Loop by SIRUP. You can also check out my review of Loop by SIRUP in the reviews section.
