It’s been a while since I last covered a RAMPAGE release, but Maverick the B‑side to their lead single BLACK TOKYO is a strong return point. Serving as a theme song for an upcoming film featuring Makoto Hasegawa, the track hits hard with its punchy pace and rock‑driven edge.
The heavier sound definitely suits the group’s bold, high‑impact aesthetic which is reminiscent of their earlier discography but with a sharper sound that demonstrates the group's strength as a collective. With Kazuma now easing back into live performances following a brief hiatus (most recently appearing at the Osaka tour stop), I’m really looking forward to hearing what the group releases next and I am glad that all 16 members are performing together once again.
