'Cruising' is the new single from Southend-on- Sea indie band, Rooskin featuring vocal harmonies from in earnest. Frontman, Rob Humm describes the track as a "song about being caught in the slipstream of someone fascinating, whilst at the same time having nothing else to do except drive around town with them".
'Cruising' layers warm synthetic sounds within echoey backdrops to lull the listener through the verses. The psychedelic influences in the guitar sections coupled with the choral section (with the added vocals of Tom and Sarah from in earnest') paint a dreamy sonic landscape that is perfect for the summer season.
"So we're cruising
Float around through the little things I can't get round
We are cruising
Maybe she could take you out if you don't slow her down"
Having reviewed Rooskin's previous singles 'Just a Town You're Passing Through' and 'Eloise', their latest single explores a richer sound palette with the layering of vocal harmonies and psychedelic influences showcasing a different side to the band's continuing growth. I look forward to hearing what Rooskin release next as the singles so far sound perfect for the summer season of festivals and live gigs!
