DEEP SQUAD are a 6-member Japanese vocal group who reformed in 2019 with the addition of three vocalists and remaining members of DEEP.
The group released their debut album 'D'PARTURE' in 2021, a collection of J-pop songs that incorporates a balanced mixture of ballads, pop melodies alongside hints of garage music. Considered a vocal group, DEEP SQUAD place full-emphasis on delivering songs that invite the listener to sing along, making this album accessible to those who may not have previously delved into the world of J-pop. Their music doesn't have the heavy production associated with other J-pop groups, but the vocals are layered and used as instruments to set the mood of each track. Highlights from the album include upbeat tracks like 'Good Love Your Love' and slow ballads like 'Yumeno Tochu'.
