'Don't Really Like You' is the upcoming single from Doncaster/Sheffield based indie-musician, Sam Scherdel.
The track opens with a catchy synth melodic hook that sonically echoes indie-pop bands like Blossoms, with Scherdel's vocals adding texture to the smooth instrumental. 'Don't Really Like You' draws strength from its captivating lyricism that is complemented by the driving force of the percussion, painting colourful visuals that place the listener in the mind of the narrator. Throughout the song, Scherdel's commanding storytelling gently guides the listener leading up to the heightened bridge that fully showcases Scherdel's vocal skills. This track exudes warm summery tones and would suit being performed live in front of a crowd, as it has memorable hooks and lyrics. Overall, 'Don't Really Like You' is a promising track following the singer-songwriter's five-year hiatus, and I look forward to hearing what Scherdel will release next.
'Don't Really Like You' is set to be released on the 6th of May (single will be added to my Spotify Reviews Playlist on Friday)
