'Everything That's Wrong With You' is the sophomore EP from New-York based singer-songwriter, Cade Hoppe. This EP is produced by Harper James and follows the success of Cade Hoppe's debut 'Tell Me How It's Worth It', a collection of songs that introduced listeners to Hoppe's warm baritone vocals and love of storytelling.
'Everything That's Wrong With You' further accentuates the richness of Hoppe's vocals, whilst the lyricism delves deeper into themes related to healing and reflection following a period of separation. 'Everything That's Wrong With You' introduces spacious production that allows Hoppe's vocals to take centre stage as the listener begins to immerse themselves in the narrative and overall tone of the EP. Throughout the EP, the tracks flow cohesively and demonstrates Hoppe's empathetic understanding towards his listeners, drawing upon his inner strengths to deliver music that gently addresses sensitive topics related to heartbreak. The two lead singles 'Hurts' and 'Morphine' indicate Hoppe's new pop-sound, moving towards a more structured composition with minimalist production that helps to place Hoppe's storytelling at the forefront of the track. A highlight from the EP is the second track 'Heart Safe'; the raw emotion conveyed in the lyrics beautifully compliments Hoppe's soft vocals that springs to life in the chorus, with a sense of catharsis saturating the backing instrumental.
Overall 'Everything That's Wrong With You' brings a newfound confidence that was present in Hoppe's previous work but is cemented in this new era, a chapter of self-discovery and recovery.
