'Freshwater' by Inland Murmur

Inland Murmur are back with 'Freshwater', the third single from the Cardiff-based indie duo, who create ambient music drawing inspiration from the Welsh landscape. Recorded in Pembrokeshire with Owain Jenkins, the track fits nicely alongside their previous records and presents a gradual evolution in their sound.

'Freshwater' features a gentle duo-vocal line reminiscent of Oh Wonder, but with a guitar-driven backdrop that complements the tone of the vocals. The swing in the instrumentation and the heavy percussion creates an expansive chorus, followed by a bridge section that produces dialogue in the vocal melody. 'Freshwater' has all the ingredients of a classic indie record, but the Cardiff-duo add texture with their soaring melodies, forming depth that encompasses a nostalgic ambience. I would be interested to hear this song featured as part of an LP, as the previous tracks all complement one another and would make a great album.
