I have loved Harding's music ever since hearing 'I Didn't Realise' a track composed from raw lyricism with stripped back acoustic melodies that are intrinsic to Harding's sound.
Karen Harding's new track 'I Heard Somebody Talking' builds upon the themes explored in her previous work, but with a new focus on brass and string instrumentation that helps to elevate the sentiment explored in the lyrics. What I love about this song is how the layered soundscape slowly builds into an instrumental break, with the strings and brass overlapping, creating depth and texture that beautifully accompany Harding's soft vocals. When you listen to this track, it is so important that you pay close attention to the lyrics because that is the core of Harding's sound.
"I heard somebody talking that you kissed your momma goodbye/ that you walked out on the street 'till your tears had all run dry..."
If you loved 'I Didn't Realise' then you will love this track; it is a song that gives you a sense of temporary escapism and peace.
