'Kartell' is the brand new single from Japanese dance-vocal group Da-iCE consisting of members Taiki Kudo, Toru Iwaoka, Yudai Ohno, Sota Hanamura and Hayate Wada. Recently the group have been touring their latest album 'SiX' following the postponement of concerts due to the rising number of covid cases in Japan. The group's latest single was written and produced by leader and performer Taiki Kudo, who has previously written and produced a number of Da-iCE tracks alongside his solo projects.
"Roll the Da-iCE right now..."
'Kartell' is a track that once again showcases the powerful vocal line of Ohno and Hanamura, with a heavy distorted guitar riff complimenting the energetic chorus. Similar to 'Citrus' in terms of vocal difficulty, the track is reminiscent of the group's heavier tracks like 'Limits' and 'Revolver' incorporating a rockier sound to their discography. What stands out is the tempo of 'Kartell', it is fast paced and never eases with the thumping percussion and broad instrumentation remaining intense throughout. The video for 'Kartell' draws upon the heavy rock influence, with sharp and precise choreography mirroring the intensity of the song. This track presents a new and explosive side to Da-iCE. Looking back over their previous singles it's incredible to see how the group have grown from strength to strength and they show no signs of slowing down.
