Indie-pop musician Cade Hoppe shares his latest single, 'Moon', an ambitious and thought-provoking track that marks a new era for the New-York based singer-songwriter.
"But you’re missing every flicker
I’ve been reflecting something bigger
Just look at the moon"
Over the past two years, Hoppe has been working hard to build a discography that explores themes ranging from heartbreak and vulnerability to independence and self-confidence. 'Moon' continues to follow Hoppe's journey as an indie-pop artist but moves into experimenting with bolder production by introducing strings and atmospheric soundscapes that bring an almost cinematic feel to his music. The title is a fitting reflection of the feeling of loneliness that underpins the song as the persona is lost in a never-ending ether, pondering their thoughts as they float between the past, present and future. This suspension is present in the orchestral accompaniment played by musicians Rob Moose and Dr Blum, who bring a new dimension to Hoppe's writing alongside producer Harper James, who continues to push Hoppe's sound by experimenting with different genres. One could interpret 'Moon' as a story that will resonate with anyone who has sacrificed something or is working hard to achieve their dreams. Whilst it can feel isolating and sometimes hopeless, our dreams are just like the moon, far away but not impossible to reach.
