There have been some incredible new J-pop/rock releases this week so I thought I'd share some of my recommendations!
'Cosmic Treat' by Perfume
'Cosmic Treat' is a futuristic disco track that features stunning cinematic visuals and Yasutaka Nakata's 80s technopop production that has incredibly catchy melodic hooks in the chorus. Listen to 'Cosmic Treat' below or on my Spotify Reviews Playlist.
'Shadow' by I Don't Like Mondays
'Shadow' is taken from the band's latest EP 'FOCUS', which marks the 10th anniversary of I Don't Like Monday's major label debut. For fans of The 1975 and Maroon 5, this track features groovy guitar riffs and sleek visuals that captures the variation of songs present in the band's decade-long discography.
'Endless Happy-Ending' by THE RAMPAGE from Exile Tribe
THE RAMPAGE are back with their new single 'Endless Happy-Ending' which will feature as the second opening theme of the TV anime series 'Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest. Highlighting the range of the three vocalists Hokuto Yoshino, RIKU and Kazuma Kawamura, this single reminded me of the group's collaboration with MIYAVI on 'ROUND UP'. I personally love the recent variety in singles and the visuals for the music video reminded me of the black and white visuals of 'Invisible Love' (one of my fav RAMPAGE songs).
