'Palace' by BrunchBox

Sheffield indie band BrunchBox are back with their brand new single 'Palace' a short but sweet indie-rock track that features uplifting instrumentals with the band delving into new territory whilst carrying the indie-guitar melodies found in 'Dreaming'.

Lyrically the band state that the song is about "getting to grips with alcohol and the various ups and downs this entails for all of us".

'Palace' features a steady percussive beat followed by syncopated strummed guitar producing a mellow summery sound with the main vocals conveying the dark tone underlying the lyrics. The tension between the heavy lyricism and light instrumental feels strangely euphoric; it would be interesting to see how an acoustic version of this song could potentially adjust the track's overall mood with the lyrics laid bare to the listener. 'Palace' is a song that proves their ability to evolve their sound whilst advancing their signature indie style, and its a promising indication of where the band will go next.
