Since the release of their 2019 EP 'Vitality', Cornfield Chase have been busy making new music, with the addition of drummer Stephen Mckie bringing a new dynamic to the band's alt-rock sound.
'Rise Again' is a song which has been reimagined, reflecting growth musically in exploring a wider sound palette, with atmospheric layered guitar cementing the band's new direction in sound. The introduction paints dark tones, conveyed in lead singer Sandy Power's vocals and lyricism "Walking in the pouring rain, these clouds got me going insane" as the persona battles his inner demons. Throughout the track, the guitar licks add a slightly quirky character with the changes in vocal production keeping the listener immersed in the lyricism and overall mystery of the song. The band are planning to play at Kirkcaldy's Live Lounge at King's Theatre pop-up venue on the 7th May with support from Felix and the Sunsets and Toy Hospital.
