'San Francisco Blues' is the brand new single from Nottingham based indie-pop band The Crying Violets.
Throughout the song, the luscious dreamy guitar melodies paint a colourful soundscape producing a spacious, calming atmosphere. The band state that the song is about "leaving a person and a place behind, and the heartache that comes with it. Our lives are always constantly changing with people popping in and out, and this kind of represents the sad but exciting reality of leaving behind the old for the new." 'San Francisco Blues' feels like it could feature in a coming of age movie, there is something so youthful and warm about the backing instrumental. Katie's soulful vocals blend perfectly with the strummed guitar and soft percussion guiding the listener through the different sections. I can't wait to hear what the indie-pop trio release next as this is a promising indication of the band's future projects.
