It has been an incredibly busy year for The Rampage from Exile Tribe, with a string of single releases and live events around Japan. Over the last few weeks, the group have released 'Tsunage Kizuna', 'Straight Up' and their latest collaboration with Miyavi. For Rampage fans it has been an exciting year, with a variety of releases demonstrating the group's charm and ambition to perform worldwide, with their nomination for 'Best Asia Act' at the MTV EMA's highlighting their popularity.
'Tsunage Kizuna' is a fun 80s inspired single, focusing predominantly on synth instrumentation and upbeat lyrics that is complimented by bright and colourful choreography. In contrast, 'Straight Up' has a heavier tone with rap and hip-hop production that features music cowritten by member Kazuma Kawamura. 'Straight Up' is a bold track that draws inspiration from Western hip-hop influences mixed with the group's signature J-pop sound. Their latest track 'Round Up' sees the group shift direction, with influential Japanese artist and guitarist, Miyavi, providing his signature riffs and powerful rock charisma. This collaboration is fast-paced and blends rock with modern pop production, a fusion of different genres between two artists who dominate various parts of the Japanese music scene. The cool visuals combined with the member's sharp choreography makes this an exciting and memorable collaboration. 'Tsunage Kizuna', 'Straight Up' and 'Round Up' are perfect examples of the group's versatile discography, with Rampage continuing to dominate and expand their international fanbase.
