‘Make me tap and scroll/ You got control, got my attention’
This year marks the band’s tenth anniversary, it is quite hard to believe that their first album ‘Bad Blood’ was released 7 years ago. Their most recent album ‘Doom Days’ delved into an apocalyptic world with Smith (lead singer) singing about the anxieties of modern life masked through euphoric melodies.
However, the band has started a new era, and ‘What You Gonna Do???’ brings bold guitar riffs and punchy vocals that are confrontational and urgent. The stunning visuals directed by Reza Dolatabadi alongside a team of talented animators reflect the song's discussion of modern technology and the need for physical and virtual interaction.
‘What You Gonna Do???’ is a complete contrast to the material from their first album and is a promising indication of the new era. The song displays Smith’s growth as a singer; it exudes confidence and is fearless.
