Released on the 13th May, 'Young' is the latest single from British singer-songwriter Lissy Taylor. Taylor describes the track as a feeling of wanting to "capture the hope and uncertainty of youth", with the soaring guitar accompaniment painting a summery backdrop that conveys a sense of nostalgia and youthfulness.
Taylor's experience of living in the UK and the USA is captured in the blend of indie-rock and alternative instrumentation, creating a track that incorporates catchy melodic hooks with warm tones from the guitar. The song perfectly encapsulates the title, with the accompanying visuals painting a picture of youth and escapism which is accentuated in Taylor's lyricism. 'Young' is the first single of four set to be released this year and follows Taylor's most recent EP 'Undercurrent'. I look forward to hearing how the other singles will compliment 'Young', as this song will more than likely feature on a lot of indie-playlists this summer.
